Maybe it is insignificant now, with the war well done with, and citizens shown dancing on streets (US media footage). Now, we’ve got the ‘Liberation’ slogan :)…and the circus goes on. Funny to note that UN gets a ‘vital’ role, like a city’s municipal sweepers who come out at night to clean its littered streets a day after, say, a carnival.

The Aljazeera link I pointed to below seems to be invalid now. I checked their site and the icon has been removed altogether. Some friendly ‘persuasion’ maybe! One couldn’t imagine anyone being unmoved by such images of mayhem and death. ‘Out of sight, out of mind’ someone said.

Funny how all (including myself) are glued to news on Iraq as if it were a decisive battle, while it seems to a raw display of fire-power, watching Uncle Sam flog a dead horse. And, then we make martyrs out of people who die in ‘friendly fire.’ I feel helpless listening to news channels report of human suffering and deaths as if it were some RTS computer game! Maybe that is next! And then a movie a la Black Hawk Down :). Alas!
